4.4.3 After the Meeting: Follow Through

The main task once the meeting is over is for the manager to write down the main points and agreements arising from the discussion, after which these are sent to the staff member concerned for review. Sometimes further discussions will take place before the agreement is finalized. As appropriate, any agreements may be recorded on the relevant organizational performance management forms.

The example in Fig. 4.11 is based on a format we implemented in one SME which did not have its own prescribed performance management form. The format used matters less than the fact of having had the discussion, and then recording in writing what has been agreed.
